What it actually does
Six screens, straight out of the app. Nothing here is a drawing of loosie — it is loosie, running, with example crates in it.
-

One tap, then what kind of idea it is. The dot in the dock is the whole app. You do not pick a folder first.
-

Each idea wears the medium it arrived in. A lyric gets paper. A beat gets a grid. You read the crate at a glance.
-

It hears the key and the tempo. Then it hands you the chords in that key, four progressions, and the notes on a stave.
-

Find it by a word you half remember. Across every crate, filtered by what kind of thing it is. Searches never leave the phone.
-

Hand a whole crate to someone. A link, a QR code, or the crate as a file. They do not need the app to listen.
-

Not only music. Scenes, storyboards, characters, palettes, type, places. The crate speaks the craft.
The crates in these screenshots are example content, so there is something to look at. They are not anyone's work.
Twenty-four ways to catch something
Most capture apps give you a text box and a microphone. loosie asks what the idea is, and then opens the right room for it. You pick your craft once; these are the six it puts under your thumb.
Music
Melody · Beat · Voice · Lyric · Tempo · Note
Film
Scene · Shot · Colour grade · Sound · Storyboard · Note
Design
Sketch · Palette · Reference · Type · Texture · Note

Everyday
Photo · Place · Link · Thought · Voice · Sketch
A hummed melody comes back with its key and its tempo. A photo of a wall comes back as a palette you can export. A scene comes back as something you can lay out as a script. That is the difference between catching an idea and typing a reminder about it.
It works with nothing switched on
This is the part we will not blur. loosie is offline-first in the literal sense, and we test it.
- Signed out, loosie makes zero network requests. A test in the repo walks the whole first run — onboarding, picking a craft, catching an idea — and counts every request that leaves the app's own files. The count is nought.
- No account to start. No sign-in wall, no email, no "continue with" anything. Open it and catch something.
- No analytics, no ad identifiers, no trackers. There is no analytics SDK in the app. Crash reports exist, are opt-in, and are off until you turn them on.
- Things only leave when you ask. Signing in and turning on sync uploads your crates. Sharing a crate sends its titles and up to three recordings, so the link can play. A Place capture sends the coordinates to OpenStreetMap to name the spot and to Open-Meteo for the conditions. Nothing else transmits, ever.
- Your work comes out whole. One file holds every crate and idea on the device, and reads back on any other.
The full detail, case by case, is in the privacy policy.

Questions
Can I get it yet?
No. loosie is not on the App Store yet. There is no beta link, no TestFlight invite and no download on this page. Put your email on the list below and you will get one message, on the day it goes live.
Which devices?
iPhone. There is no Android version and none in progress. There is no Mac or web version to sign up for — this site is the site, not the app.
Do I need an account?
No. Everything in the free app works signed out and offline. An account only exists so that crates can sync between your own devices and so that a shared crate knows who sent it.
What is a crate?
A place for ideas that belong together — a record, a film, a shoot, a notebook. Ideas live in crates the way records live in a crate: you flip through them rather than navigate them. You can pin the one you are working in, and share one without sharing the rest.
Where do my recordings live?
On your device. They are uploaded only if you turn on sync, and a shared crate carries at most three recordings so the link has something to play. Everything else about a shared crate is just words.
Can I get my work back out?
Yes. One backup file holds every crate and idea and imports into any device. Single ideas export on their own as audio, MIDI, PDF, images, or plain text, depending on what they are.
Someone sent me a crate link.
Open it. It plays in the browser today, with no app and no account. Once loosie is out, the same link opens straight into the app instead.
Get an email when it's out
One message, on launch day. Not a newsletter.
